Cupping Therapy is a system of techniques using glass or plastic suction cups to draw soft tissue up inside the cup. To do this the pressure inside the cup is reduced either by using a pump and valve (cold cupping), heating the air inside the cup (fire cupping). 

This technique increases blood circulation to the area where the cups are placed. This may relieve muscle tension, which can improve overall blood flow and promote cell repair. It may also help form new connective tissues and create new blood vessels in the tissue.

Tuina Medical Massage originated in parts of Asia although it became fully formulated into schools and techniques in China. It consists of both movements across the muscles and acupressure to activate and unblock energy meridians and loosen tight and knotted muscles. Whereas massage is generally thought of as a treatment done with oils and stroking movements, Tuina consists of stronger techniques in order to clear physical and energetic issues and is usually done through clothes without oil.

Gua Sha, loosely translated means “scraping of the red marks”. The scraping is done on oiled bare skin, with a special tool usually made of Jade or horn.  The movement squashes the soft tissues bringing stagnated blood and toxins to the surface where the blood supply to the skin can carry it away more readily than if it were in the deeper layers. It also gives a deep tissue massage and can be very relaxing. It is often used for cosmetic purposes as well as clinical and is very good for scar and wrinkle reduction.

Acupuncture involves very fine needles which are inserted into specific areas on the body by a trained therapist. It affects the bodies energy pathways as well as causing micro damage to tissue, both of which stimulate the body’s systems to promote healing. Acupuncture is believed to have originated much earlier than written records suggest and may have used bamboo needles and even blood letting techniques as early as 3000 years ago to balance health and combat disease. Also includes electro acupuncture to boost the treatment if required.

This treatment covers a number of facials that can be done sperately or as a combined treatment. Gua sha and cupping facial involves scraping a flat jade stone over the skin in upwards strokes to relax stiff muscles and promotes tissue drainage. Cupping can be used at the same time or as a seperate treatment which uses a small silicon  cup to clear out facial tissue, increase blood supply and tone and lift the facial muscles.

Cosmetic acupuncture uses small facial needles to enhance the improvement of scarring and lift the face. This protocol encourages the improvement of the circulation process encourage skin tine and texture and encourages the the production of collagen.
